Where will my child be staying?
All resident campers will be staying at Sixth College, located within 5 minutes of pool and dining facilities. Sixth College dorms give our campers the opportunity to interact with many new people and make new friendships.

What are the ages and abilities for camp?
Resident campers must be at least 9 years old while day campers/clinic attendees can be 8 years old.  If you plan on sending your 9 year old to resident camp, we encourage having them attend with a friend or sibling.  The maximum age for all camps and clinics is 18.  Campers must be competitive swimmers with a working knowledge of all four strokes.  Camps and Clinics break into groups based on ability, not age.  There is a coach in charge of each group to ensure campers receive optimal instruction.

My Child is going with a team mate.  Can they room together?
Yes.  When you register, you will be asked for a roommate preference.  Rooms come in singles, doubles, and triples.

What time is check in/check out?
Check in for resident campers is between 1 and 2pm.  Check in for day camp is between 1:30 and 2pm.  Resident campers will check out at 11:30 on the last day of camp.  For day campers, check in is daily at 8am and 5pm.

What is the easiest airport and train station for arrival?

UC San Diego is conveniently located 15 minutes from the San Diego International Airport and also the Solana Beach Train Station.

How can my child get from the airport or train to campus?
A staff member will pick up campers for a $50 fee.  In the case of multiple campers needing rides, each additional child is $20.

What should my child bring to camp? Will they have bedding? Do they need extra cash?
See Swim Camper Checklist

Who is watching them at night in the dorms? Will someone walk them over after practice at night? How far is the pool from the Dorm?
Campers are supervised at all times by UC San Diego Swim Camp Staff. Typically the ratio is 8 campers to 1 staff member. A staff member will be supervising the campers to and from all practices. The distance from the dorm to the pool is roughly a 5 minute walk.

How do I receive the team discount?
